Several government entities provide financial and non-financial support to SMEs. Key agencies include the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), which offers business development assistance and grants; the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), which supports young entrepreneurs with microfinance grants; the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), which provides loans for industrial development; and the Small Enterprise Finance Agency (Sefa), which offers debt financing. The Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) was established to promote entrepreneurship and increase SME participation in local and international markets. Programmes like the Umsobomvu Youth Fund and the Technology for Sustainable Livelihoods Programme also provide targeted support.
